At SafePoint IT, our strength comes from the people behind the technology. We’re excited to welcome Jared Bahr to the SafePoint IT team as our newest Enterprise Engineer.
Background
Jared is based in the western suburbs of Chicago in Oswego, Illinois, where he has spent most of his life. Although he grew up in Illinois, he was originally born in Tacoma, Washington. Much of his family still lives nearby, including relatives who operate farmland in the Plano area.
His curiosity and hands-on approach to technology come from years of experimenting, building, and learning through personal projects - an approach that translates naturally into solving technical challenges.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Jared spends most of his time with his family. As a father of four kids, much of his free time revolves around playing games together, building projects, and creating stories.
He also enjoys a variety of hobbies including flying FPV drones, gaming on his PC and Steam Deck, maintaining planted aquariums, and working on DIY home projects like woodworking and landscaping.
One unique creative hobby of his is recording short audiobook-style stories for his kids, often turning them into the heroes of imaginative sci-fi or fantasy adventures.
Why He Enjoys Technology
What Jared enjoys most about working with technology is helping people navigate problems that initially feel overwhelming. There’s a real satisfaction in taking something complex, breaking it down into clear steps, and delivering a solution that simply works.
Helping people turn confusion into clarity - and making their day a little easier - is one of the things he values most about working in IT.
